Sleepiness and the Truck Driver

I am frequently asked by my truck-driving patients what poses the greatest risk for falling asleep while driving and what can be done to prevent it? The answer is multifactorial. The first component is how much sleep they obtained before the shift. Studies done by the NTSB have shown that sleeping less than six hours before driving will increase the chance of having an accident by 2.4 times. Read full article at truckingcrossing.com…
